Tania Henderson

Tania is the Deputy Principal at Silverstream School in Mosgiel. She has previously held the same position at Ōpoho School and worked as an Across School Teacher for Ōtepoti ki te raki Kāhui Ako. Tania's professional journey is driven by her passion for building community connections, prioritising wellbeing, and upholding te tangata tīriti. She firmly believes in the power of collaboration and strong relationships within the school community, which have a positive impact on students and educators alike.

Outside of work, Tania has a wonderful family. She is a proud mother to three girls and happily married to a football-loving teacher and coach. They reside in Mornington, a place that aligns with their values and provides a nurturing environment for their family. Although Tania is originally from Aparima, Riverton, and grew up in Waihopai, Invercargill, she pursued higher education at Te Wānanga o Otakau/Otago University. She also had the opportunity to live and work in England, expanding her professional expertise. Currently, Tania is studying Te Pīnakitanga at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, deepening her knowledge of te reo Māori and its customs.
